There is an immeasurable gap between the Lord Most High and His earthly servants. The church has firmly held the most lofty of world views for ages while treading through the muck that is human society. We purpose ourselves to have compassion on the thankless, to pray for people that reject us and to preach the goodness of a Man no one has seen in a long time.
Yes, it becomes harder to imagine that the Holy of Holies, and the rest of the world was divided by a mere piece of fabric. We stand at the tabernacle proclaiming that God is behind that curtain, a curtain called Christ “if you would just pierce the veil.”
We need that constant invigoration from communion and good preaching to keep courage for the incessant and seemingly hopeless battle. In the absence of the Holy Spirit, we would likely find it impossible to rationalize continuing the fight. Our wrestle starts to want valor and our faith becomes lack luster outside of the provisions of God.
The idea or perspective of God that allows this needs reform.
You see the same Father Most High that freckles the sky with stars, pitches black holes throughout the universe, handcrafts the mountains and moves the oceans is the same Architect that designed the intricacies of every living cell. Each cell being like a small city, or machine with so many unnameable, uncountable moving parts that make it work; just like the celestial symphony we see in the night sky. He has engineered the mechanisms of the tiniest particles and His fingerprint is in all His work.
At every level, the greater operates through the function of the lesser.
The Bible says the church is the Bride of Christ. The Spirit of God moved Paul to make this correlation: that the wife is the glory of the husband, and the Church is the glory of Christ. Through her is manifest what the Groom has poured into her: Love, Grace, Faith and all heavenly hope shining for the world to see.
We are His glory, in our every day motions we were made to show who He is.
The enemy will fight it with all their resources. They will demean our identity and belittle our purpose. They will aim any weapon that will convince us that He can do all things except through us in particular.
We are the children of the Sovereign King. I pray the Holy Spirit remind us of our value when the blood of the Prince was spilled for us. You see blood leaves a nearly impossible to remove stain and the blood of Abel cried from the ground, how much moreso will the blood of the Lamb of God speak? [Hebrews].
Look up at night and see what has God has painted with the tiniest of strokes The smaller the pixel ratios, the higher the resolution. Perfect plans require many tiny moving parts to be perfect.
We could serve our whole life to impact one individual who will in a singularly, divinely appointed moment create a ripple that will turn into a wave, that will become a tide, that will evolve into a monsoon that could shake a nation, galvanize a generation.
They say the flap of a butterflies wings could initiate a chain reaction that culminates in hurricanes. What God can do with a little, and how present He is in the microcosm will baffle you when you flex your vision to that level.
No battle is too small, and every single moment of our virtually mundane lives becomes valuable in the hands of the Lord Who Multiplies.
With these things in mind, and the remembrance of our Infinitely Resourceful Champion at heart, I pray you hold up your arms with renewed vigor. Radiate all the good things that the Faithful Shepherd has adorned you with for a world that desperately needs it.
18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed to us-ward. 19 For the earnest expectation of the creation waiteth for the revealing of the sons of God. 20 For the creation was subjected to vanity, not of its own will, but by reason of him who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the liberty of the glory of the children of God.
